CRUCIFIED MORTALS – CONVERTED BY DECAPITATION EP

(Stigmatized Records)

The thrash metal revival continues with another excellent band taking up arms and banging the head that these days would rather leap up and down in a jumpsuit. Hailing from Ohio, CM proudly wear their influences on their denim an’ leather sleeves, standing with one foot in 1986 Germany whilst stomping on the throat of false metal in 2005.
The brainchild of main man, guitarist and vocalist Craig Horval, he has guided CM through line-up changes and no-doubt tempestuous seas, but my hat is off to him for producing some of the best thrash metal it’s been my pleasure to hear since ’86 and ’87.
The six songs on offer are manic thrashers guaranteed to put a smile on your face; ‘The Reaper’s Blade’, ‘Sentenced to Extermination’ (with its chilling intro), the thunderous title track - think Kreator’s ‘Endless Pain’ or Sacrifice’s ‘Torment in Fire’.

This is without doubt great stuff, and worthy of any thrash metal fan’s attention.
