MOST DEF, DIMENSION HATROSS THATS THE ALBUM WHAT VOIVOD MEANS, AND AWAY`S DRUMMING, VERY COMPLEX AND THE WAY HE SMASHES THE CHINA CYMBAL ON THE SONG MACRO SOLUTIONS TO MEGA PROBLEMS RIGHT AFTER THE EPILOG. THE STORY LINE JUST INCREDABLE, THEY SHOULD MAKE A HOME VIDEO ABOUT THE ALBUMS CONCEPT LIKE PINK FLOYD`S THE WALL. THAT WILL BE AWSOME!! |

Best album must be Nothingface by far. I'd heard a track from the first album on the first Speed Kills album and didn't rate it, but something made me pick up a tape of Nothingface anyhow. Wow. It was a fixture in my car stereo for about 2 years, until it got stolen (in the stereo - those guys will never appreciate what they actually stole!). I picked up the CD about 6 years later expecting to have a couple more listens for old times sake, but it is still in my car now and is played weekly.
Its hard to get over what an important album this has been in my life. No band has produced a recording like this. Ever. Metallica took a downturn when Newsted joined, but I hope Voivod can keep themselves grounded enough to incorporate him without losing what made them great. In the interview link Newsted says it may be a 'Black album meets Voivod sound'. I sincerely hope not. 'Kill em all' intensity meets Voivod depth would be a recording I'd kill to own...

I have to say that rrroooaar and killing technology are voivod's best albums.
rrroooaaarr for it's brutal explosion of agression.
When I heared it first time I was blown away.
Killing Technology for the song "forgotten in space"
I saw them live once in 1987 together with Kreator.
It was one of the most rememberable live performances I ever saw.
Voivod rules, I am curious for their new album. |

There isn't a shit Voivod album and I like them all, but all the same these are the three I like best.
1) Dimension Hatross
2) The Outer Limits
3) Phobos
It's pretty darn close between 1 & 2 though!! |

Killing Technology, Dimension Hatross, and Nothingface. Nothing will ever top these 3 records. Sure, the new cd with the return of Snake will most likely be great, but I just don't see how they'll ever top the "trilogy". The best of the "trilogy"?
Probably Dimension Hatross. |

Killing Technology.
Dimension Hatross comes a close second but with tracks like Tornado, Forgotten in Space and Ravenous Medicine nothing can touch KT.
An album of unsurpassed, intense genius. |

I have to go with Nothingface....with Phobos as a close second....obviously 2 different ends of the spectrum there, but both are amazing. The heavy but mellow and textured at the same time Nothingface, and the schizo heavy Phobos..... |
