The Tower

"The Voïvod is watching as the survivors are getting ready to revolt."

He is anark
Can you hear the sound of the phantom bell
People gather around
Burn in his half-world hell Proto-overman
User of the dead hand
To the tower
He is anark
Screams that calm the wind Hear the black birds shriek
Death is your last breath
We have one enemy
Proto-overman
User of the dead hand
To the tower
He is anark
Dark dance
Break of dusk
Cold wind
Time to kill
Eyes closed See his blood
Fear not tomorrow will
Proto-overman
User of the dead hand
To the tower

"Cold is the blast as Anark watches the Valley of Lost Things through his electronic spyglass. He sits in a tower without doors or windows. His marrow flows from bone to bone. The Phantom Bell is sounding. May Death arrive and let Darkness triumph over Hope. In the City of the Winds, amid the sounds of the dying, a Proto-overman with hollow eyes awakes from the Half-World. He screams to calm the Wind, blackbirds' wings sweeping past his back. He's a User of the Dead Hand and the birds shriek at him. Looking at his people lying around him, he speaks: "Death is only your last breath. We have one enemy, and his bones must be brought here. We must march against him, after Death in this World, and in the other which is to come. We are the Things that will be Tomorrow". The Dead People stand up. They must take sides in a War that allows no neutral ground. Three stakes are driven into the earth. In the stillness of dusk, they start the Dark Dance to kill the Cold Wind. In the morning, once all of their wounds have stopped bleeding, they march toward The Tower. They must destroy Voivod the Deathless. Destroy the Watcher. Closing their eyes, they see his Blood. The sky covers their march from above. When Darkness comes, they stand in front of The Tower. A skull with burning eyes is on the fence. The Dead People know they might be staring at the sky for the last time. So cold a Tower..."
